* I am really happy that non-combatant hauling ships are getting the 90% fatigue reduction -- that is something I had been pushing for and I'm happy you guys saw the light on that. Maybe extend this to mining ships, too? * Pretty sad to see JFs getting 10LY range. Their 5LY range allowed for some meaningful ability to disrupt incoming logistics. 10LY eliminates a lot of possibilities here. * Rorquals not getting the 10LY treatment is a little weird. Care to elaborate on why only JFs get the extra range?
I agree with this. Bumping jump freighters to 10 enables a heck of a lot of room for selling your garbage to Jita, but I get the issue of multiple cyno alts and stuff. Yaay!!!! |

Etrei Kordisin wrote:It's nice to know that CCP trusts the playerbase to not use the massive loophole that these changes open up, too. Nullsec players are absolutely above the idea of swapping to T1 industrials in order to utilise a starbase bridge network to jump halfway across eve in hardly any time.
The industrial ship jump bridge change is one of the dumbest ideas they came up with. Remove that, and the rest is acceptable.
Hate csm trying to put in exceptions, loopholes and backdoors to this jump change. Yaay!!!! |

Greyscale, the rest doesn't need to happen. The jump freighter range change, ok that's fine.
Everything else doesn't need to happen, as you are backwards adding power back into a system that you have not even tried yet.
Follow your own basis for game scaling. Remove the rest of the changes, except the jump freighter one, and test to see what happens.
There's no need to set scaling for fatigue per ship, as people are merely trying to add in exceptions to the jump changes to get the game back to business as usual.
Jump freighter change, ok.
The rest, is not needed. Yaay!!!! |

Please- remove drone bonus on Rorqs, if that's a concern for you, and give them the 10ly jump range.
We are all still waiting for a change for Rorqs, but that could be another several updates out. In the mean time, Rorqs are one of the most commonly used ships for logistics, and the 5ly nerf to them is just as bad as it is to JFs. It's not a matter of projecting our power, it's a matter of not committing suicide by trying to do day-to-day logistics. I'd be happy if they took away the drone bonus and gave the rorq 9ly or 8ly. I'd be really happy if they embraced the Rorqs tower logistics role and gave some sort of bonus for carrying fuel blocks.
The rorqual needs a total overhaul, not a patch job. Yaay!!!! |

I'll make a suggestion regarding the current industrial change, but this is a narrow suggestion, regarding all industrial subcaps and jump bridges/titan bridge fatigue.
Making all of them have a reduced fatigue timer is.. well slightly unbalanced, but making just one of them is more controlled.
I would suggest as a benefit of being able to fly it, the Deep Space Transport should be the only Industrial Subcap capable of reduced fatigue when taking jump bridges and titan bridges.
You give that ship a completely dedicated role.
The Blockade runner can already cloak, and use black ops bridges.
So the Deep Space Transport should be the ship that can use jump bridges and titan bridges under reduced fatigue.
It keeps T1 ships separate from the pool, and it causes people to truly think whether they want to use a DST, how to fit it, and where they can go with it.
It gives it a dedicated purpose in lowsec and nullsec. It can't beat bubbles, but it can survive under fire. That pretty much sounds like its ideal position. Yaay!!!! |

You are deciding you can't play. They ain't stopping you from flying your ship, they even gave you more flexibility. Mechanics change, and this is for the better of pretty much everything. Hopefully the backdoors are removed. Yaay!!!! |

Sgt Soulless wrote:This whole system is WAAAY over complicated. It would be much easier to just figure what the minimum wait time between max distance jumps would be if you let "fatigue" burn off after each jump, and then just put a cooldown on jumpdrives equal to that time. Leave the range alone and just do a flat cooldown. Oh no, now your super ship can only bypass the terrain of space that restricts everyone else every 10 minutes or whatever. How will you ever survive? You know what else that stops? Ridiculous alt networks built to bypass this convoluted fatigue system. Does it greatly reduce the mobility of capitals? Yes. That's the point. Does it make them use gates and expose them to more danger? Yes. That's also the point.
Honestly, CCP should just remove jump drives and jump bridges entirely, and implement player built gates. Player gate networks would represent actual supply lines that could be disrupted. This will do more to localize and contain the influence of any one player group than anything else CCP could do. Supply line disruption is the reason that conquering and holding large areas of land in reality is so difficult. It's the natural force that opposes military expansion. EVE doesn't have it. That's why you have a blue donut.
Obviously if you remove jumpdrives you'll have to rebalanced capitals and jump freighters to be more effective through the gate network. Faster time to warp, various means of resisting/breaking tackle, maybe reduced production cost, etc.
*Note that I said nothing specific about how to implement player gates or rebalance capitals, so don't bother with "blah blah blah that won't work because I'm assuming the worst" posts.
They never should have been introduced, but we can't Monday Morning Quarterback it now. Its here, lets deal with it. Yaay!!!! |
